The Red-hot Blitzer from London (c)(premierleague.com) |
Certainly he is. Tottenham Hotspur's very own hitman's on some red-hot form. He's into double figures for goals this season for club and country, and also is closing on Geordie great Alan Shearer's calendar-year record (36). Seven strikes away from the former Newcastle man. Hey Mr Thierry, you hear that?
One of Spurs' erstwhile youth team coaches Alex Inglethorpe said Kane looked quite clumsy and a bit cumbersome, when he first played for the club at the under-18 level. One thing which was hard to dissuade was the fact that he had some darn good technique, and also the burning desire to develop. And we're seeing the benefits now. I have a shrug of the shoulder each time I see my fantasy points thanks to him. He's got such as a power and accuracy about his strikes which you'll liken to Premier League legend Alan Shearer, according to cult hero Les Ferdinand. One thing which startles me about the 24-year old, is that he isn't as quick as many of the renown centre-forwards we've got now: but his positioning and anticipation are right up there with the best. He's made up for that lack in place, a very smart footballer he is.
He's got the lot this man. He can hit one from 30 yards, can rise highest to direct his effort towards goal, and he loves the tap-in too. Goals are becoming a regularity for the previous Leicester attacker over the last three seasons: 21 in 14/15, 25 in 15/16 (Golden Boot), and 29 last campaign in just 30 games for Tottenham. Stunning thing with last year's tally is that he missed two months due to injury and still won the Golden Boot. One-season wonder you say? Also, he now holds the record for most goals in London Derbies (previously a certain Thierry Henry). This term it's six in seven for Pochettino's man, whose wife will be worried about the proclaimed love he's admitted to during press conferences. He's just getting better and better. The only way is up, for this guy. Madridistas certainly pressuring Club President Florentino Perez to send that cheque to Dan Levy.
He may not be considered as world-class by some Greats, but he certainly is worth all the fuss. A title-winning campaign far away from him, however you can't fault his track-record. Harry's blitzing alright, and there are very high chances that he'll go all the way this season. He is just that good.
Dan levy would probably never sell Kane or Alli, especially after letting go of Bale and modric.
