FIFA's THE BEST PLAYER AWARDS

"Every magic trick consists of three acts: the first act is called the pledge. The magician shows you something ordinary, when of course: it probably isn't. The second act is called the turn. The magician makes this ordinary something do: something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret, which you won't find: and that's why there's the third act, called the prestige. This is the part with the twists and turns, and when games hang in the balance. Then you see something amazing you've never seen before."

And that's what these humans are, magicians 🎩.

FIFA's THE BEST Men's award will be presented tonight in London's Palladium. And it's down to the three aliens (that's how Totti sees it).
2017 has been another brilliant year for Cristiano, Lionel Messi, and Neymar. Individual honors, titles, you name it. Indications point to the Portuguese receiving his 5th award in this category.
Having spearheaded Real Madrid's La Liga and UEFA Champions League triumphs, Zizou's talisman already dabbing all the way. He wasn't short of goals too: hitting the 50-Goal mark For club and country this past season.
How about Jor-el's son? The Argentine magician weaved his wand on numerous occasions which got him the Pichichi as well as the Copa Del Rey success. Of course he was the front runner for Luis Enrique, with more than 60 strikes for the Catalans in all competitions.
Messi's fave buddy Neymar played the supporting act very well. That PSG comeback the pick of the bunch. Bet he'll be on top next 2 years. His blitzing start to his PSg career just a testament to how good he is. The rightful heir to the throne.

FIFA's THE BEST Women's award also will be given this night. Last year's winner Carli Lloyd (oh she's good) well in contention to defend her crown. The 35-year old had another stellar year for Club Houston Dash and for her national team (U.S.A). Report suggest Donald Trump is somewhere in London negotiating.

Dutch player Lieke Martens looks the favourite for the prize after helping her country to success in this year's European Championships. She as aresult received the UEFA Best Player award in the summer. Guess she'll be standing next to you know who on the podium.

Talk about a diamond in the rough. Venezuela's Deyna Castellanos has been nominated for the right to be crowned the best in the world. And she doesn't play in a professional league. You have no excuse, AY. She's in her second-year in the Florida State University. The 18-year old has more than impressed for her nation in the UEFA Youth Olympics and in the U-17 championships. She's scored 14 in 15 games for her University team Florida. She's up for the Puskas award too, courtesy of a 30-yard free-kick beauty. You should see it.  Even Messi isn't up for that.

We await the winners tonight. Should be number 5 eh? And oh, South America may finally have another winner since 2015. Not you Lionel.

EPL 18/19: DERBY DAY IN MANCHESTER

We’re not scared anymore. A rather defiant Pep Guardiola hinted in his press conference yesterday, as City prepare for their game in hand v Oleball’s Man United. Who will be the King Of The North?       Manchester United got thumped by a spirited Everton side this past Sunday. If that’s anything to go by, then it’s probably curtains for Sir Alex’s grandkids. Positive is, Old Trafford can be a daunting presence when needed. You just never know with this club. Ney still having mares of that night in the French capital. Last time out, goals from Kun Agüero and Ilkay Gündogan k illed off any comeback. Can’t be the same again yeah?  “Ole’s at the wheel yeah?” (c)bleacherreport.com      City fans have been chanting the Campeones anthem already, after Saturday’s win v Pochettino. No VAR sadly then. Victory the maximum, or it could just slip. Yes, that’s the word. Skye Sports confirm a certain Scouse just signed as a fr...

UCL 18/19: IT’S AN ALL-ENGLISH AFFAIR

      (c) https://www.teamtalk.com/  Cue Mo Salah.        Whew. Taken a breath yeah? This is why we love the game. It’s never over till AY says so, or the lady. What a 48 hours it’s been. This season has shown us one thing on different occasions: fortune really does favour the brave.     Brave? Or a case of the never-disappearing bottle. Barcelona threw away a 3-0 lead, again. Jürgen Klopp having another Istanbul-like night. Borussia Dortmund suffered the same in 2016. What makes this more special, is the fact that they did it without Mo’ Salah and Firmino. When you’re backed up against the wall, it seems that’s when true character is shown. Hats off for Liverpool, and to Jürgentainment Klopp. Who’d have thought too much passion would be a good thing?  (c) https://www.businessinsider.com/     Mauricio Pochettino did not sign a single player in the last two transfer windows, didn’t have the Kane Man, an...

UCL 18/19 SEMIFINAL REVIEW: FIRST LEG

Europe’s elite club competition served up another dose of rich entertainment, not for everyone though. It seems you shouldn’t disrespect an almost-hallowed football ground.      Giant-killing Ajax Amsterdam added another victim to the list, with a deserved 1-0 away win at Spurs’ new ground. Donny Van De Beek afforded far too much time in the 18-yard as Hugo Lloris was left exposed. Spurs huffed and puffed as the game came to a close, with Dele Alli only forcing a save from André Onana. Special mention to Jan Vertonghen who recovered after taking a whack which left him bloodied for a bit. Pochettino still has hope as Son Heung-Min would be back from suspension. Ajax looked rattled for a bit as Sissoko and co chased and harried.       Fear it, dread it, run from it: Destiny still arrives. Did you really think Leo Messi was going to let this one slip?      Liverpool got taught the lesson of the famous smash and grab: Liverpool pl...
