Whew. Taken a breath yeah? This is why we love the game. It’s never over till AY says so, or the lady. What a 48 hours it’s been. This season has shown us one thing on different occasions: fortune really does favour the brave.
Brave? Or a case of the never-disappearing bottle. Barcelona threw away a 3-0 lead, again. Jürgen Klopp having another Istanbul-like night. Borussia Dortmund suffered the same in 2016. What makes this more special, is the fact that they did it without Mo’ Salah and Firmino. When you’re backed up against the wall, it seems that’s when true character is shown. Hats off for Liverpool, and to Jürgentainment Klopp. Who’d have thought too much passion would be a good thing?

Mauricio Pochettino did not sign a single player in the last two transfer windows, didn’t have the Kane Man, and his side came back from 3 goals down. What is it with comebacks this season? Ajax having a Barcelona-esque meltdown. Special mention to Lucas Moura whose hat-trick sealed it and booked the ticket to Madrid for the date with Liverpool. Imagine Harry’s knee-slide celebration if his ankles were fit. Are you watching, Unai Emery?
Still cannot believe what has happened. Honestly. Let’s throw bias out of the window, and appreciate what a truly elite league the Barclays Premier League is. It’s all fun and games, till it happens to you.
